as saw in this post, some countries rises in tigers number while some reduced.
and today 29July, is the global tiger day,
really hope people aware the wildlife more than any other political arguement.

Today is the third day showing in Camberwell. I am now in the show place and seems a very good journey and sharing when talki to the audiences. The Lipbalm Tiger “Omar”, although not going as what I expected, people keep doing graffiti on it….but….that’s good! as long as people enjoy the activity and getting to know more about the story.
here’s some opinion, feedback, from my mind or guests.
1) to cast more the same size with different colour, letting audiences to crave it….and therefore, everyday journey is written on the tiger, plus more space provided to audiences
2) my pleasure to invite the sculptor, Raphael, to come and crave the tiger stripes, he suggest me a way for souvenir, using a pot of lipbalm, letting audiences to dip and take away….yea …could develop form for that.
3) so far from my observation, people in this country are really into wildlife conservation…they are interested in and supporting the wildlife.
4) inspired by Yujin’s work…..I think there should be some metal casting lipbalm (with Omar’s head) as souvenir, sell them and making money for donation to the forest conservation.
To summarize my work in 2nd year MA in Visual Arts (Designer Maker), I made a simple flow chat,
In the 2 years study, I learn from different experiences including lecture, workshop, collaboration, visiting studio and gallery, having shows, observing classmates improvement, etc.
I think the sights, concepts, narratives, form and finishing, presentation skill…..all gained a lot,
and I will continue my art and the endangered animals project in the future.

For the campaign that during my unit 2 project, aim to spreading out the story of palm oil issue. I collected about 400 pieces of unwanted, expired lipstick, to think of an installation. learn from the animals casting problem, I try to use plastic sheet to make a mold for casting a rhino, finally the casting still leaks a lot, but there’s another advantage that when it become solid, is really easy to cut off the sheet and get the art work out.
first to cut out all of them
to melt them together
making the mold by plastic sheet, next time could use a thinker one with laser cutting, this one is a bit thin and soft
casting begin…..ar yea, have to mention that some beeswax was added since the mixture is a bit sticky…..(is palm oil problem? not sure)
it keeps leaking, terrible, as the lipstick is limited, I need to wait it become solid and melt those leak outs, and cast again…..repeating the procedure……..
final one, I applied this for showing in Camberwell space but in vain……now I am applying for another exhibition, really want to show it and spread out the story, another reason is …..this work involves many people’s support and spirit….hope people like it. and yea, I will keep on endangered animals project!!!
