summarizing the ideas I developed and discussed with Maiko and Bernaby,
to identify them, they will be written in the format: a) concept from/ b) ideas development/c) tutor feedback or my thought
1.a) polar bear losing living habitat due to global warming
b) to design a set of chairs that letting audience or user feel the same situation as polar bear – losing the comfort environment, chairs or tables will separate into different pieces or parts.
c) I think if this is a real product, user could not really experience the insecure but only enjoying the different function of that; could it develop in installation?
2.a) after reading the reason of the animals extinction, deforestation is one of the main reason.
b) toilet paper roll, with jungle or trees printing on the sides. the core will be the animals image e.g. tiger. so people keep using the paper just like killing the wood.
c) Bernaby like this small ideas on daily use products, he suggest me to think of a series of those household products. This idea could be applied in plastic cup (not eco-friendly), A4 papers or tissue pack….etc.
3.a) animals losing habitat or hide from hunters
b) as I wrote here, a series of furniture or product with the topic Hide and Seek.
c) Maiko suggest me to work out the dummy or another model for more inspiration.
4.a) global warming, water level rise, noah ask saving animals.
b) firstly is a chair developed like a Noah Ark, or may be with tables or sty else……later I develop it as an installation that with many endangered animals climbing on the boat(chair), so audience go into the installation, sit down……meaning that the human him/herself occupying the whole boat and seeing all other animals without home.
c) Maiko suggest me to work it out and show it in the interim show. Actually I like this very much and now searching and thinking of the making method, e.g. (steam bending for wood)
