Try to make a 1:5 scale dummy for that Noah’s Ark Chair. Although idea still developing, I do want to make some dummy out for inspiration.
and also a Rhino head chill out arm chair~ 1:5scale, I like the shape very much!

Barnaby told us to setup a fun box, putting all interesting printout, drawings or magazine page into it, I’d rather put all on the wall. 😀
WWF lists out the endangered species, is helpful for my project.
Actually the endangered species could also divided as:
1) Extinct
2) Extinct in the wild
3) Critically endangered
4) Endangered
5) Vulnerable
6) Near threatened
7) Least concern
and there is an icon for each of them,

As mentioned in previous note, Rohan Chhabra, who graduated from CSM, he got a series of design that inspiring my project. It was glad to seeing him and we share our point of view on endangered animals.
V: whats your concepts behind the works?
RC:
-Hunter jackets (hunter being hunted; trophy at home; letting hunter think what if they are the animals)
-scarified shape for jeans (people not having a concept where it come from; a cow leg letting people think the leather came from there)
-choose some animal with iconic, otherwise people can’t really recognize.
V: Is jacket the original concept you want to create?
RC suggested me not needed to set what I really want to make ,
In this stage do more research, e.g. keep watching national geographic / BBC.
V: How you define art and design?
RC: “you don’t have to pin it” he said . by using his hunter jacket as an example, some people think is fashion, some think it is art, some think that is products….
“as long as it make sense and communicate well” he said.
just like what we discussed in the lesson that Yuta brings out…..
well I still wondering what is that and how to define…..?!
V: any difficulties during the project?
RC and I also found that the environmental protection organizations are not easy to coop with. For me, I email several of them, but no reply or some said the time and resources would not be able to help my project.
V:is endangered species always your works’ topic?
RC said he firstly created the ram as the graduation project, and keep making others afterwards
RC also think that Europe is a good platform for such kind of project since people are well educated so that they will really concern about it. During the conversation, we both have the idea of running behind one we got some news from animals extinct. We all looking forward to gather the artist making the similar artworks, we could from different countries with different skills, interesting!!!
